By Mizuyo Yamashita

Treehouse is object/tea-light holder. Each one is hand-built individually and therefore has slightly/very different designs. This was developed from Mizuyo's degree project which was a cityscape installation consisting of small houses, churches and flats in ceramics, wood, metal etc.

Made in stoneware clay.

Mizuyo uses a variety of techniques for her ceramic work including carving with chisels, which is a popular technique in Japan called Kezuri. She is interested in combining the cultures of English and Japanese to create contemporary ceramic objects.
