“"The way", "The Path", "The Flow" are some ways to describe what tao means. It originates from a religion/philosophy/spirituality called Taoism. The exact meaning of tao is untranslatable. Tao basically means everything. The tao is like a flow that is everywhere. People moving around, nature doing whatever it does, things like that are examples of tao.” The artist feels that this word best describes the image that came about by mixing ethnic patterns and exotic patterns with this strong face. In this print, the paper was first painted yellow, then the dark colour silkscreen printed on top. The artist then added a bleach type product to the print paste to print the figure, resulting in a 'batik' type effect with depth and transparency.
Hand painting and hand silkscreen printing.
Arches 300gm. Watercolour paper with deckle edge.

Dimensions:
Size of paper - 76cm x 56cm
Size of image - 62cm x 44cm
